BACKGROUND:
On March 25, 2025, the City Council authorized the acceptance of the Motor Vehicle Crimes Prevention Authority (MVCPA) Grant for the FY25 SB 224 Catalytic Converter Grant Program authorizing approval of two (2) two police officers, one (1) Crime Analyst position and forty-one (41) Flock Safety Automated License Reader (ALPR) Technology cameras to assist the department in its endeavor to reduce crime.
STAFF RECOMMENDATION:
The staff recommends authorizing the City Manager to sign a contract/purchase order for forty-one Flock Safety Falcon Automated License Plate Recognition Cameras within the City of Cibolo.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
One-time Implementation Fees and equipment for this project are $200,650.00, and then there are recurring annual costs of $166,500.00. The one-time cost of the actual Flock Safety equipment is $166,500.00, and there are one-time implementation fees of $34,150.00 as well. The MVCPA Grant would cover approximately $167,158.00, and the City of Cibolo's shared cost would be approximately $33,442.00.
